    • The Kinks - LONDON, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 24: Band members relax backstage at the 100 Club on February 24, 2011 in London, England. Since it's opening in 1942, the 100 club has hosted many artists such as B.B.King, the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, Oasis, and the Sex Pistols to name but a few. The club had recently been threatened with closure, because of financial pressures as have many smaller fringe clubs across the country, but after a high-profile campaign supported by Sir Paul McCartney and Ronnie Wood, a recent sponsorship deal with the shoe company Converse has saved the 100 Club from an uncertain future.

Go here to check out some new music by Fletcher C. Johnson. Who's that?

A Brooklyn-based three-piece, and the name of the fearless leader.

Fletcher C. Johnson premiered the A-side to their White Iris Records released Messin' Up My Mind 7" over at Noisey.com. The 7", available now, perfectly exemplifies the sweeter side of the classic 60's rock 'n roll on which the band crafts their sound. "Messin' Up My Mind" is a throwback to mid '60s Kinks fun, while B-side "Lost My Head" adds a touch of Jamaican pop with a Motown feel, resulting in a two song release that still manages to display a bit of diversity, while still maintaining the band's signature upbeat rhythms.

Fletcher C. Johnson, led by none-other-than Fletcher C. Johnson, are a band on the verge of something special. Their emphasis on catchy vocal melodies combined with hook-ridden riffs find them in unique territory among the throngs of overly distorted bands in the garage rock genre. Fletcher C. Johnson further separate themselves from the pack with their innovative songwriting, which includes carefully layered organs, fuzz, falsetto vocals, strings, synths and perhaps most importantly words of wisdom from Fletcher's mother.

The band will be embarking on a 15-date tour.
