New Zealand's #1 parody-rock duo, Flight of the Conchords, announced today a revised tour schedule, which sees their North American tour gaining a few dates in June and July. The newly added stops are June 25, Portland, OR at Keller Auditorium; June 28, San Francisco, CA at Shoreline Amphitheatre; July 10, Austin, TX at Bass Hall; July 20, New York, NY at Forest Hills Stadium; and July 26, Los Angeles, CA at The Greek Theatre.
Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement hit the road June 11, beginning with a show at Cleveland, OH's State Theatre. The very next day, the pair takes to Philadelphia, PA's Mann Center for Performing Arts (they will likely take it by storm). The Conchords tour extends its wings across the United States this summer with a smattering of stops covering every part of the country. The tour includes a slot at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. According to Pitchfork, the duo plan to perform new material on the road. The tour is presented in partnership with Global Citizen, a nonprofit devoted to fighting global poverty.
There's no news of a new album release at this time. Last year, Jemaine Clement told the Guardian the Flight of the Conchords upcoming musical film is in the works, "a couple of years away, at least." The band's last album, I Told You I Was Freaky, was released back in 2009. Recently, Flight of the Conchords put out 2012's charity single, "Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That)."For more on Flight of the Conchords, check out:
