Foo Fighters Guitarist Chris Shiflett Forms The Dead Peasants It's an Americana/country project

Apparently, playing alongside Dave Grohl is not enough! Foo Fighters' guitarist Chris Shiflett has formed The Dead Peasants, a country/Americana project. The band's self-titled debut is set for release on July 12 and was recorded at Californian Studio 606, which is the Foo's studio, this winter.
Shiflett told the NME that "there's really no real big loud Les Paul pumping through a Marshall amp kind of moments on this record. It is so far from anything I've been a part of with Foo Fighters and it was just really fun to do." He says the music is rootsy and country and the lyrics are goth. Aren't all country lyrics gothic in nature, since they are often about losing your girl and crying in your beer?
