The Associated Press reports that a New York woman is suing Sean "Diddy" Combs, saying he fired her because of her age two decades after she helped launch his career. Ageism is more rampant than you'd think in this country but rarely does anyone step up and take it to the courts against millionaire rap stars.

51-year-old Francesca Spero filed the age discrimination lawsuit Wednesday in Manhattan federal court.

Spero claims that she introduced Diddy to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Uptown Records after meeting Diddy all the way back in 1988. She says she worked at Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment record label as an executive for 12 years before being fired in March. The suit alleges that Spero was fired after hip surgery and for confiding to a company executive that she was being treated for a relapse of her drug dependency.

Diddy's initial response to the suit came from his publicist, who said "there are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them."

    Team Diddy or Team Spero?
