G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Videos
Producer Jeffrey Erb has launched Framelight Productions with entrepreneur Robert Robinson Jr. The shingle aims to adapt edgy comic books and graphic novels into feature films. Framelight plans to produce between six and eight films per year during the next five years, with budgets hovering in the $20 to $80 million range.
The company already has options on several properties, among them Dr. Deth With Kip and Muffy, a Marvel Comic written by Larry Hama, the author of G.I. Joe and the supernatural thriller Sins of the Fallen. Framelight has also said that it will eventually adapt video game and toy properties into films in the future in keeping with its edgy aesthetic.
The company will set up offices in Norristown Studios, a 300,000 square foot studio and sound stage facility in Pennsylvania and will establish a West Coast base of operations in the future as well.
