Every year Los Angeles' FYF Fest just seems to get bigger and better, and that's certainly the case this year. The festival, which has for the past several years been held for two days near the end of August or beginning of September, is now three days and set for July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. The event once again returns to Los Angeles's Exposition park for the fourth year in a row.
It's not only the length of the festival that is growing. It's also the artists starpower. Headlining 2017's iteration will be Frank Ocean, Björk, Nine Inch Nails, and Missy Elliott. Bjork and Elliott will be headlining Friday, and that alone would be a stunning set of headliners, throw in Los Angeles' own Frank Ocean and you have a festival that even nearby Coachella has trouble topping — and we haven't even mentioned Nine Inch Nails yet.
It's not only the headliners that are creating a level of excitement. Anderson Paak & the Free Nationals — another one of L.A.'s brightest rising stars — Erykah Badu, Iggy Pop, Slowdive, MGMT, Flying Lotus, Run the Jewels, King Krule, Anderson .Paak, Nicolas Jaar, Ty Segall, Mitski, Thundercat, Sleep, Little Dragon, Thee Oh Sees, Cap'n Jazz, Whitney, Hannibal Buress, Blonde Redhead, Hundred Waters, Moses Sumney, The Drums, Motor City Drum Ensemble, and many others are set to take stages.
For a festival that, just a few short years ago, used to be held in Echo Park at two small venues, a record store, and a back alley, FYF has certainly has come a long way. In the words of Missy Elliott, "Work It" FYF!
