Hear it, then grab it!
It's been a minute since their last transmission, but Bag Raiders are baaaack!
The now-L.A.-based, Australian band have graciously shared the new song "Vapour Trails," which was penned in Paris and Sydney, then recorded at The Boat in Los Angeles, making it a truly international track with a global vibe. The track will appear on their forthcoming EP Waterfalls, due out this summer.
Don't go chasin'…
So Bag Raiders. Who are they and where have they been?
They are Jack Glass and Chris Stracey, who released their debut in 2010. After their world-tour ended in 2012, the band decamped from Sydney to Los Angeles, finding inspiration in the city's new age of energy and foreign landscapes.
They swiftly returned to the studio, crafting another suite of songs, which were further evolved from the tracks off their bashful, club-focused debut LP. Having always opted for instruments over computers, refreshingly so, the new material on Waterfalls doesn't abandon the dancefloor. Rather, it applies Bag Raiders' production nous and musical chops to a much broader sound palette.
Over a three-year span, the duo continued to collaborate, write and produce for other artists' forthcoming projects. They also recorded remixes for various artists such as BANKS, Riton, Kimbra, Cut Copy and The Ting Tings.
Despite receiving plenty of offers to play major festivals around the world, the band nixed live performances, instead focusing on crafting and strengthening their sound.
The wait is now over.
Happy "Trails" are below. The song crashes into you like gentle waves. You'll get your groove on, but this isn't by any means a banger. It's cleaner, crisper and totally not sleazy. It's more beach cabana party in Ibiza than it is urban dance squad.
Enjoy your "Vapour Trails."
