Destinesia, a six-song EP from Southern California singer/songwriter Scott James, will be released on January 29. The collection was produced by Grammy-nominated producer/composer/multi-instrumentalist Joe DiBlasi, who, like Scott, first gained recognition for his prowess on the guitar. "I don't think I've heard another 17-year-old that has near the same amount of passion in his playing," observed DiBlasi.

Fans can get a free download of "Garden," the collection's haunting first single, now at ScottJamesMusic.com.

Free music is good. Free, good music is better.

The video for "Garden" - the first of several clips being rolled out over the next few months - has quickly racked up a quarter million views. It can be seen below:

If life is a journey, Destinesia is about the mixed emotions summoned by arriving at one's destination. "Have you ever gotten to where you were intending to go and then wondered why you wanted to go there in the first place?" asks Scott. "That's Destinesia. I love this word because the meaning can run shallow or deep, depending on the circumstances each of us is dealing with."

With a soul piercing voice that calls to mind Chris Martin and Jeff Buckley, Scott accompanies himself on guitar and piano on Destinesia's six self-penned tracks. These candid, emotional songs seamlessly blend layers of pop, rock and blues.

Raised in Thousand Oaks, California, Scott began writing songs and performing at the age of 12, quickly gaining a reputation as a musical prodigy in the local music scene. In addition to playing local clubs such as Hotel Café, the Whisky a Go Go and Zoey's Café. He has performed across the U.S. and abroad, winning intensely loyal fans along the way and the praise of industry legends such as GRAMMY-winning producer Jimmy Jam, who notes: "When I met Scott, he was a fantastic guitar player. He has since added vocalist, singer and songwriter. It's about having the passion to get better at what you do while having the talent. [Scott] has natural ability, but he also has the work ethic to do whatever it is he wants to do."
