The Freedom to Love Now benefit concert, which is a benefit for gay marriage and was to be held in New York on Tuesday, October 30, had to be postponed due to Hurricane Sandy, which swept through the East Coast on Monday and Tuesday, causing massive power outages and coastal flooding.

The event was scheduled to be held at the Beacon Theater and was to feature performances from The National, Rufus Wainwright, Beth Orton and They Might Be Giants.

The concert will now be moved to the spring, according to a post issued by the concert organizers. "We are rebuilding the show on a future date, likely in the spring," the post read.

We are glad that it is not being canceled out right.

Did Hurricane Sandy affect any of your plans?
