George Michael believes his late mother was urging him to fight for his life when he was suffering from pneumonia last November and nearly died.

Michael spent spent three weeks unconscious at a hospital in Vienna, Austria last November, canceling shows and causing rumors that he was near death.

The "Faith" singer reveals he sensed the voice of his mother, Lesley, who died in 1997, willing him to live during his illness. He told TV host Lorraine Kelly, "I would like to concentrate on the fantastic good fortune in dodging the bullet, as it were. In that strange place between life and death, I was definitely feeling my mother kind of basically saying, 'Don't you dare come and meet me yet – I'm not ready, you're not ready.'"

    What a sweet tale!
