The FADER and Sonos are back for another edition of the super cool "At Home With" program and they take a look inside the new abode of Brooklyn-based duo Matt and Kim.
The FADER and Sonos have been presenting their "At Home With" series this year, where they are stopping by eight different homes belonging to various artists they love each month, checking out where they spend their days when they're not on the road.
It's like Cribs, but cooler. Way cooler.
After a recent move from their notable Grand Street location, as referenced on their 2009 album of the same name, Matt and Kim take fans through their new spot which includes various floors of a common area, personal office spaces, and a studio where they're currently writing their upcoming album, to be released early 2015. Also inside are some unique pieces of furniture, including a refurbished prison table for their kitchen.
It's such a birdseye view and MandK let you in.
"I need music on when people come over, some sort of music, it fills in any weird gaps. When people are selling houses, they're baking cookies in the oven because when they walk in people are like, 'ah, this feels welcoming', it feels like home. If you put the right music on, it's that same thing. It's like baking cookies for your ears...I just think you should make music, hear music, and experience music wherever you are most comfortable doing that. The music that plays throughout the rooms when people are there, its something that's comforting, its familiar. It defines where you live," said M&K's Matt Johnson
Okay, so watch the clip below.
Do you love MandK and their crib?
