Gorillaz New Album Release & Tour Getting Closer Now

Gorillaz have been teasing/promising a new album for some time now. Back in October of 2016 social media accounts started to show signs of life, and hope — interviews were given with notable outlets, discussing the state of Great Britain, and the nature of material on a new studio album.
In January, Gorillaz marked the inauguration of Donald Trump as the forty-fifth president of the United States with the release of a new track; the politically charged "Hallelujah Money" — a collaboration with UK singer songwriter Benjamin Clementine. The angular, hyper-real release represented the band’s first new music in five years. It was unclear if the track will appear on the new album. However, it seems as if it won’t be long till we find out.
A Gorillaz fan named Jack Winstanley has taken to his Twitter account to share an exchange he recently had with Gorillaz mastermind, Damon Albarn. His excitement may be considered NSFW:

Not only was young Jack thrilled to meet his hero, he expanded on the exchange he had with Albarn, discussing a new hat, oh, and the recently completed new album and a tour that’s apparently in the works, "they’ve just finished the album and they’re rehearsing right now." Albarn also posed for a photo wearing "a new hat [he got] for the Gorillaz tour."
@sidneyphlegm he says they've just finished the album and they're rehearsing right now!! :)— Jack (@_JackWinstanley) February 23, 2017
So it seems, in usual style, Albarn is preferring to speak directly with fans — and to retain the enigmatic announcements for a later day — but it’s safe to say that we’ll be seeing and hearing more from the virtual band in the very near future.
