'Gossip Girl' Creator Preps New Web-Only Show

Josh Schwartz, the man behind The O.C. and Gossip Girl, has tapped Lykke Li, The Kooks, Earlimart, Eagles of Death Metal and many more new-ish bands to appear in his new Web-only show, Rockville, CA. Here's the concept: every week a band plays at a faux club called Rockille. Much rocking and melodrama ensues.

"In addition to viewing full episodes," a press release explains, "TheWB.com community will be able to stream and download exclusive tracks from the show, and watch videos, interviews and other Rockville, CA extra content at TheWB.com when the series launches."

Alex Patsavas, the show's executive producer/music supervisor (see also Grey's Anatomy and Schwartz's two other aforementioned hits), added, "Fictional or not, we're going to make Rockville the hottest indie music venue on the Web."

No word on a start date yet, but shooting has apparently started at the Echo in Los Angeles.
