Green Day Cancel Voodoo Fest Appearance

Green Day announced they have to cancel their scheduled performance at this year's Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans on October 27, 2012. The band's singer Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab to deal with substance abuse issues after an expletive-laden meltdown at last month's iHeart Radio Festival. The singer/guitarist/frontman is seeking treatment and as a result, the band has had to cancel numerous promotional appearances, events and opportunities while he deals with his issues.
"Canceling shows is something we rarely do," said drummer Tre Cool in a statement. "We never want to let our fans down, and we are grateful for all of you being understanding during this time."
Any and all true Green Day fans should understand that BJA is getting himself healthy, right and in a better place and that absolutely takes priority. Fans need to be patient until the singer is right as rain and ready to return to the stage. It'll be worth the wait.
ARTISTdirect.com wishes BJA the best during the treatment and recovery process.
