Green Day to the Rescue!

A 12-year-old Green Day fan in Yorkshire, England was straightening up her family garden when she discovered a foreign object that looked just like something on the cover of one of her favorite albums. The album was American Idiot, and the object in question was a grenade -- benign when it's in album artwork, decidedly less so when it's live and laying in your yard.
The young girl, Ruby Wilson, picked up the grenade and showed it to her father, Johnny, who promptly summoned the authorities. Ten homes were subsequently evacuated as an army disposal unit arrived to investigate. In most cases, stray grenades are not live, but police confirmed to the Wilsons that their uninvited visitor was, in fact, ready to blow.
Soldiers detonated the device, which was apparently a leftover from a time when a weapons factory was in operation nearby.
As for Green Day, it's further proof that the punk favorites have the healing touch -- at least when it comes to Brits. Last year, a nine-year-old boy awoke from a coma upon hearing American Idiot, his favorite album.
With those big shoes to fill, the band is at work on a follow-up that they have already dubbed "an event," and is still considering options for making a film based on the narrative of American Idiot.
