Gregg Allman and biopic producers are now being sued by Joyce Gilliard, a hairstylist who fractured her arm during the tragic train crash which killed a camera assistant on the set of The Allman Brothers' biopic Midnight Rider.
Gilliard was one of six crew members injured back in February, when Sarah Jones was struck and killed by an oncoming train as they shot landscape footage on a trestle in rural Wayne County, Georgia.
The production was paused and actor William Hurt eventually walked away from the project.
Jones' parents are suing 10 people involved with the film, including Allman, who is an executive producer, and director Randall Miller.
Allman's lawyer said that the rocker was surprised to be included in the wrongful death case levied by Jones' parents, since he did not select locations and is not involved with the actual shooting of the film.
Now, Gilliard has launched her suit, filing paperwork in Savannah, Georgia. She says that the she sustained injuries and the fact that she had to run to safety to escape the oncoming train have left her suffering with PTSD aka post-traumatic stress disorder.
She says she also has permanent physical damage from the accident, but did not detail that damage.
The accident is being investigated and criminal charges may or may not be filed, as Miller had permission to film in the area, albeit not on the tracks where Jones was killed.
What do you think of this messy and sad case?
