American blues/rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, who scored a huge hit with the song "Blue on Black" in the late '90s, is back in action. The decorated guitarist, who is only 33, has signed Roadrunner/Loud & Proud and he is currently hard at work on his debut projects, which include his first live album and a new studio album. No sleep till live and studio albums are complete for KWS!

Widely regarded as a guitar hero before every kid with a gaming console started to pretend to play licks, the self-taught Shepherd learned to play at the tender age of seven-years-old, learning Muddy Waters licks while listening to his father's record collection. At 13, he was invited onstage and performed with New Orleans bluesman Bryan Lee. Signed to Giant Records at 16, Shepherd recorded his first album while a senior in high school. Sounds like he doesn't believe in taking a day off and hasn't since he the blues were infused into his blood.

Who is your favorite blues guitarist?
