Guy Ritchie Does Sherlock Holmes

Guy Ritchie is perhaps more famous for being the husband of Madonna than for his directing career, which includes hits like Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. That's about to change, as the director has just been confirmed to write and direct a film about London sleuth Sherlock Holmes. Warner Bros. will release the picture.
The film will be a modern reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic intellectual sleuth, notorious for his use of deductive reasoning. Richie's version will make Holmes a little more fun and less buttoned up than he has been portrayed in the past. The film is scheduled for an October release. It'll be exciting to see what Ritchie does to the character, who hasn't seen much evolution since his first appearance in print back in 1887.
