Haim has been working on their sophomore LP for some time now, but it seems as if the record is finally on it's way. The trio of sisters cancelled the remainder of their European tour this summer to work on the new album and in a just released interview with Entertainment Weekly, they announced they are looking to release the new record this summer. The band originally hoped to debut the record this past fall.
Haim have not released an album since their debut, Days Are Gone, back in 2013, an album which Alana says took them "seven years." About the new record Danielle says, "We write everything, we play everything, and we help produce everything. These things take time, and we refuse to put out anything we're not 100 percent in love with." The only other collaborators featured on the forthcoming record are Ariel Rechtshaid, who worked on much of Days Are Gone, and ex-Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij - who released I Had a Dream That You Were Mine with The Walkmen's Hamilton Leithauser earlier this year.
Danielle spoke about the more organic and back-to-the-basics feel they were looking for in the upcoming album, "We decided we were going to do what we've always done," she says. "We wanted to get back to our so-called roots. We needed just it be the three of us in the beginning. We just wanted to get back in the zone."
