Legendary soft rock kings Hall & Oates will tour this summer, with plans to hit the road just a few short months after the wrap of their winter tour (which ends February 19th at Madison Square Garden). The 21-date tour will kick off May 13th in Dallas and take their smooth Philly soul sound across the country with the support of special guests Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and "Trombone Shorty" & Orleans Avenue. The concert series concludes on September 23rd in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena. The duo will play 27 dates in total, including gigs in Los Angeles, Houston, and at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
As a bonus, the pair has enlisted none other than fictional soft rock duo the Blue Jean Committee (that's Fred Armisen and Bill Hader) to help spread the news via a promotional video. In the vid, the Blue Jean Committee's Gene Allen (Armisen) and Clark Honus (Hader) reminisce about H & O's modest (and fictional) days as their opening act in the heady days of '70s rock. "You know who used to open for us? Who we used to kick around?," Honus asks. "Daryl Hall and John Oates!"
"We used to make fun of them because they're from Philadelphia," Allen says. "Oh, I want a cheesesteak!"
