The Fender Accelerator Tour, a new initiative from Fender tackling the challenges that often prevent emerging musicians from touring, is live and launched. It's super cool, especially if you are in a newly touring band and know the uphill challenges that come with that status in life.
Touring in 2015 is made easier with this program.
Getting the tools, funds and planning together to hit the road and get on tour is an overwhelming undertaking. In fact, while live shows are a primary revenue source for bands, there are large barriers to entry to tour and it can often prove cost prohibitive.
With that in mind, the Fender Accelerator Tour will send a diverse group of musicians on tour across the U.S. and Canada with all of the resources and support they need including a customized 15 passenger touring van, marketing/promo support, Fender gear, as well as fuel and vehicle maintenance needs.
Now that is amazing!
Participating artists include Night Terrors of 1927, Priory, Deap Vally, Matthew Curry, Marmozets, Waters and more to be announced.
"Fender has a rich mix of musicians on our team and we understand the challenges of touring first hand," says Richard McDonald, EVP of Fender. "It's such a dynamic time in a band's professional journey and you are usually ready to hit the road before you have all the pieces in place. The Fender Accelerator Tour takes some of that pressure off these amazing bands and gets them on the road, in front of their audiences."
Another unique element is that each van is equipped with GoPro cameras to capture real-time daily content on the stage and on the road. All the ups and downs of life on the road will be documented and shared on the artists socials channels (using #FENDERXLR8R) as well as on all of Fender's media channels - giving artists access to more than 5 million Fender followers.
That's touring in 2015. Now get out and see these bands!
