HELLYEAH don't hold a goddamn thing back on Band of Brothers.

The formidable outfit of Chad Gray, Greg Tribbett, Tom Maxwell, Bob Zilla, and Vinnie Paul unload a torrent of badass heavy metal on their third offering. In fact, Band of Brothers isn't simply the heaviest and best HELLYEAH outing yet, it's one of the year's best records.

The album delivers one slamming anthem after another. It starts with the pummeling powder keg "War in Me". Maxwell and Tribbett fire off devastating six-string salvos, while Paul practically bashes his drum kit into the ground at light speed. Gray screams with unmatched ferocity and fire, sliding from a punishing verse into an incendiary refrain. All bets are off when the solo starts screeching.

The title track rolls like an Abrams tank, crushing everything in its path through big grooves and even bigger vocals. "Rage/Burn" ups the ante on heavy, twisting and turning on a jagged riff and brain-bashing bass line from Zilla. Then, there's "Drink Drank Drunk" which is so heavy it's straight-up intoxicating. Don't drive after that one…

The record's standout is "Bigger God". Tension mounts on the verse as Gray opens up just enough to explode. It's a dynamic and deadly bruiser where Gray screams, "If I'm taken for granted, I won't be treated like a fucking dog. Now that I've had enough of all of you, I'm going to build a bigger god". Then, he slips back into an airy verse.

"WM Free" thrashes while espousing the virtues of listening to Slayer and Metallica, while "Between You and Nowhere" slows things down for a poignant and potent ballad. Ultimately, these Brothers can do it all.

    That's why it's so fucking awesome…
