Hey, Miami people! We have something that can help you get over the sting of LeBron James' exit and return to Cleveland.
The exhibition by photographer Henry Perez runs from July 25 through August 8 at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. It benefits the Sabrina Cohen Foundation for individuals living with paralysis.
Perez, viewed as one of Miami's most beloved paparazzi, brings his artistic magic to life for a great cause with his new exhibition: La Femme ... en Noir et Blanc.
Perez selected 50 female subjects to pay tribute to the natural beauty of women, capturing their inner and outer beauty in unusual surroundings and circumstances. All proceeds from sales of the artwork and of his new coffee table book benefit the Sabrina Cohen Foundation (SCF).
The non-profit organization is dedicated to cutting-edge funding, innovative research and therapies to provide a better quality of life for individuals living with paralysis.
Good art x a good cause. Those are things we love, especially when they come together in complementary fashion.
The exhibition features Perez's campy take on 50 of his favorite Florida females. "These are the most beautiful and interesting women I am blessed to know," said Perez. The women in the exhibit span in age from their early '20s to nearly 80, representing a wide variety of races and ethnicities.
The series is a culmination of over a year's worth of photo-shoots taken throughout South Florida. Locations include Wynwood, Coral Gables, Little Havana and South Beach. All photos were shot in black-and-white, and have not been retouched or photo-shopped in any way, in order to preserve the natural beauty of the subjects. The women were instrumental in contributing to their surroundings and to the style of their shoot.
Sounds amaze, right?
