Hesta Prynn bent pop to her whim on the mind-bendingly magnificent, Can We Go Wrong EP. It's a collection of catchy little numbers that can be deliciously dark in one bar or saccharinely sexy in another. It's got the kind of kick that makes classic music so intoxicating, and it's so refreshingly unique that you won't be able to stop listening to it once Hesta Prynn takes hold.
Since Hesta Prynn dropped one of our favorite offerings this year, we wanted to know what her personal favorites were. Check out Hesta Prynn's top ten albums of 2010 below in this exclusive feature! 1. Robyn — "Body Talk"
"There are so many great tracks on this one! It's the soundtrack for your next dance party for sure."
2. Bear Hands — "Burning Bush Supper Club"
"My fave boys from BK finally finish their debut album. It's really great '90s-inspired rock."
3. Ryan Star — "11:59"
"Long Island boy makes good with giant hooks and earnest lyrics that you've been hearing on the radio all year. How many babies were conceived to "Start a Fire" remains to be seen…"
4. Les Savy Fav — "Root for Ruin"
"Amazing guitars. Amazing bass. Amazing frontman."
5. Kanye West — "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
"Toast for the douchebags—don't love Kanye the man, love Kanye the artist."
6. Jay-Z — "The Hits Collection, Vol. 1"
"A Jay-Z starter kit that's a great gift for your teenage cousin. Balance this with a mixtape including Queen Latifah 'U.N.I.T.Y.' and DJ Vadim/Sarah Jones 'The Revolution Will Not Happen Between These Thighs'."
7. Warpaint — "The Fool"
"I loved this L.A. band's EP when it was on MySpace. The record takes it a step further. Really great."
8. Nas & Damian Marley — "Distant Relatives (w/ Damian "Jr Gong" Marley)"
The track "Nah Mean" has been one of my anthems this year. This is a good one top to bottom, really underrated in year-end lists.
9. The Black Keys — "Brothers"
"Next Girl" was another of my favorite songs this year.
10. Broken Bells — "Broken Bells"
"It's a really dope driving record."
Honorable Mention: Hesta Prynn – "Can We Go Wrong EP"
"This is the record I listened to most in 2010. Dark, artsy, genre-blending pop songs that I couldn't be more stoked about…At $3.99, it makes a great gift for any time of year."
