Hot Hot Heat Discuss Their Final Album

Hot Hot Heat released their self-titled, fifth and final record at the end of June. Lead singer Steve Bays looks back over the 17-year history of the band as a wild time where four Type A musicians created lightning in a bottle whenever they got on stage. Caught somewhere between real life and an illusion, the band managed to stick together and not become jaded.
They've just released the music video for "Magnitude," the first single from the self-titled album. It's an ideal introduction to the final chapter of Hot Hot Heat, which finds the four-piece Canadian group reaching back for the feelings that made the band so dynamic all those years ago, and combining that with a new understanding of themselves.
ARTISTdirect's Christopher Friedmann spoke with Steve Bays about how Hot Hot Heat kept its cool through the trials and tribulations, came to terms with all those rock 'n' roll illusions, and how, through it all, the band remained kids at heart.
