"House" Star Hugh Laurie to Record New Orleans Blue Albums

House sourpuss Hugh Laurie is in the studio working on an album of New Orleans blues. In a press statement, the British actor said, "I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

Laurie actually played piano on Meat Loaf's new album, Hang Cool Teddy Bear, in a partnership that formed after Meat appeared on an episode of House.
