Taylor Swift is famous for her writing songs about her relationships and heartbreaks, so much so that anyone who dates her might be wary of ending up in one of her beloved songs. Her romantic and lyrical forthrightness means she ends up being the butt of many a joke. Hi, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Golden Globes.
Nevertheless, Swift spoke about the notion and the nature of heartbreak, and it's not something she fears or avoids, especially since it further connects her to music.
"I think when you're heartbroken, you need music more than when you're not," Swift said. "There's something so beautiful about people who are heartbroken - they think about how they're feeling much more."
She does have a point there.
Swift further stated, "Love is one of those things that is so simple, you don't need to think about it when it's good, you only need to think about it when it's bad. So, when music is all that you have and you're lonely or you're missing someone and you write a song that says exactly how you feel. There is sort of a gratification you get from that. It almost helps you move on."
Do you share Taylor Swift's perspective on love and heartbreak? Do you absorb music more deeply when your heart is hurt?
