If you are a rabid fan of Sirius Satellite Radio morning DJ and undisputed King of All Media Howard Stern, as I am, you might feel bad for how Stern berates his producer Gary Dell'Abate, also known as Baba Booey on air for his chicklet-sized caps, his horrific throw of the first pitch at a Mets game last season, his love for chocolate and the embarrassing video tapes he made for an ex-lover. But don't feel quite so bad for Booey because he's about the cash the hell in. He has secured a mid-six-figure-sized book deal with Random House. His biography, They Call Me Baba Booey, will be written by author Chad Millman.
The book isn't due out till November, and yes, I will be purchasing a copy if I don't get one promotionally! The book is already Number One on Amazon's "Movers and Shakers" list, based on pre-orders alone. The Stern Nation supports one of its own!
Stern wrote two best-sellers, while co-host Robin Quivers also enjoyed best-seller status for her autobiography. Portly sidekick Artie Lange, who has been MIA from the show since December and who failed at a suicide attempt early this year, also had a best-selling book. BTW, Artie, I miss and love you and hope you are doing well and recovering and planning to mount a return to the show! There's a gaping hole left on the show because of your absence and I daydream about the day I hear your voice on air again!
What is your favorite celeb biography or autobiography? Did you read any of the Stern show flunky books? Do you hope Howard Stern renews his contract with Sirius, as it is up at year's end? I know I'll be crushed if Howie goes bye-bye. Who is your favorite Stern show member?
