Apparel brand Hurley has confirmed a special film collaboration with The Used and legendary artist, Craig Stecyk III.
Music is a key component of Hurley's DNA; Hurley Recordings is a testament to that. Home to all things music, the studio has hosted a number of artists, including Weezer, NOFX and Alkaline Trio, with The Used being the latest to take occupancy.
The Used and Hurley have had a strong relationship since the band's inception in 2001, but their latest collaboration at Hurley Studios was particularly special; While recording and producing their latest EP, The Ocean of the Sky, Dogtown legend and filmmaker Craig Stecyk III created a short film, giving fans an inside look to The Used and their time in the studio.
"Over the years we've developed a such great relationship with The Used," said Hurley Music and Entertainment Director Greg Teal. "We're excited for the opportunity to share their Hurley recording experience with the fans in a unique short film."
Stecyk's film encapsulates the band's two-week process, which wrapped up in late May. Frontman Bert McCracken shares an intimate on-camera narrative in the studio, with a mix of archived footage of the band and their backstory. The video can be viewed exclusively at hurley.com.
