New original music on the way soon...
Hyro Da Hero solidifies band with former Quicksand and Failure Members
Hyro Da Hero's assault on hip hop is set to engage full force in February. He's assembled a collective of legendary musicians to aid him in his mission of making unique, real and relevant rap music. In one corner, slinging sludgy polyrhythmic riffs is Quicksand and Handsome guitar maestro, Tom Capone. In another corner, Failure drum demon Kellii Scott sits behind the kit, ready to pound out driving and heavy rhythms. Hyro's new homies are bringing an innovative rock n' roll flavor to this hip hop happening."When I started playing with Hyro, it immediately felt like we were old pals," explains Kellii. "It feels like we're hanging out in the woods as kids having fun. There's so much great energy live. Our show is a cool balancing act between making the people dance and making the people rock. At first glance, it might seem like we don't have much in common, but when we start playing, there's a sense of freedom that everybody feels. We take our differences and ally ourselves that way. The common thread is that we love the music. It's a perfect and limitless world where we get to be who we are. It's turning into this thing that's going to be much bigger than any of us could have ever imagined."
For Tom, the feeling is mutual. "Hyro's lyrics, skills, timing, delivery and presence drew me in. I wanted to work with him instantly after I heard him. The music we're coming up with sounds organic, raw and unconventional. Bands have tried the hip hop-rock thing before, but it's never been done the way that we're doing it. We're really taking it to the next level, and it's going to appeal to people who are into everything from underground hardcore to pop. We make amazing fusion, and it's futuristic."
About his band mates, Hyro comments, "I couldn't be more excited to have Kellii and Tom in the band. Failure and Quicksand were major influences on me, and the shit we're coming up with isn't like anything else out there. I can honestly say that. Fuck your favorite rapper, we're bringing something to the table you've never heard before. Innovate, don't imitate."
