The remaining quartet of Desperate Housewives have selected their side. Actresses Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman issued a joint statement
earlier this week, pledging steadfast support for show creator Marc Cherry, after he and the network were slapped with a lawsuit from former Housewife Nicollette Sheridan. The actresses' statement is called knowing which side your bread is buttered on and a smart business decision by siding with your boss on the PR front.
"It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing," the statement said. "We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment."
"It is, in fact, the opposite," the statement also read. "Friendships and support that Marc Cherry, the cast, the crew and the producers have shared for the past six years have made this a wonderful job that we are grateful for every day."
Sheridan says that Cherry physically assaulted her and that when she filed a complaint against him, she was summarily fired. She's seeking a whopping $20 million in damages.
Do you think her former Wisteria Lane cohorts are slapping Nicollette Sheridan in the face by showing solidarity with and for Cherry? Or do you think that Sheridan is telling tales?
