New music festival tries to give the club kids some bands that play actual instruments
Ibiza Rocks Festival to Host Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, The Streets
The Kaiser Chiefs and Hard-Fi are the latest additions to the Ibiza Rocks festival, joining a distinctly non-clubby lineup by the summer party mecca's standards. Among the other bands playing the ongoing festival are The Streets, The View and Arctic Monkeys.Promoter Andy McKay said about the festival, "When we launched, many people laughed at the idea of bringing live bands to Ibiza and it was very hard to book the bands. The bands we booked a couple of years ago as relative unknowns are now returning to headline as platinum selling No.1 artists.... It's an amazing feeling to be entering our third year and a proud moment to be launching with such a strong line up."
All the performances will take place in a venue called Bar M. Here is the full schedule to date:
The View plus The Rumble Strips (June 19)
The Holloways (June 26)
CSS plus special guest (July 10)
Kasabian (July 16, 17)
LCD Soundsystem (July 18)
Mark Ronson plus special guest (July 24)
