IFC has picked up the North American rights to director Steve Soderbergh's two-part film, Che. Che consists of two, two-hour films, each of which is a biopic focusing on Che Guevara's revolutionary activity in Bolivia and Cuba. Benicio del Toro stars as Guevara.

The film premiered at Cannes earlier this year, receiving a mixed response from audiences. IFC is still hammering out release plans for the films, including whether they will be released together, separately, or in another manner. Rumor has it that the films will be released in January.

Soderbergh is up to his ears in biopics. He is currently developing a film about the life of flamboyant pianist Liberace for Warner Brothers. He will direct the movie.
