Mon, 09 Aug 2010 07:31:38
Brandon Boyd does all kinds of hypnotic sonic acrobatics on his solo debut The Wild Trapeze.
The record is a dreamy journey through elegant soundscapes with Boyd's vocal variations guiding the trip. There's a certain beauty that the album captures—from the soaring choruses to the vivid lyrical poetry. It's a creatively wild record, beckoning multiple listens. The record may be unlike anything that Boyd's done with Incubus, but at the same time, he proudly displays the boundless creative spirit that's been a trademark of his career since day one.
It's been quite the ride for Brandon Boyd to reach The Wild Trapeze, however, it was all worth it. He sat down with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino for an exclusive interview about the road to The Wild Trapeze, a couple distinct tunes, what's next for Incubus and recollecting some Deftones memories.
