If you were slicing up people and "repossessing" their organs, you'd need a good soundtrack.
For the cast of Repo Men, music served as quite crucial to keeping a steady hand during organ "repossession." In the exclusive ARTISTdirect.com video interview below, Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber and Alice Braga cut into the plot and story behind the film, and they also share their respective unique personal and character playlists.
Jude Law found himself deep in Stax Records for his conflicted hero Remy, while Liev Schreiber was blaring Metallica and Tony Bennett to step into the shoes of the nefarious and hilarious Frank. Meanwhile, Alice Braga took the perfect femme fatale route with a little Nina Simone filtering through her iPod.
Jude Law laughs, "The music was like a view inside these people's souls. They like good music, so don't give up on them!"
Repo Men is a darkly comedic sci-fi action romp unlike any other film, so it's only fitting that every character had a vastly different playlist. It's hard to say what's the best hack-n-slash music, but these guys give us a little bit of insight into what worked for Repo Men's glorious gorier moments.
Plus Jude Law plugs his son's band, Minds Alike—"That's the best plug I can give you, son," he chuckles.
