Wed, 10 Mar 2010 15:31:46
Slayer guitarist Kerry King makes a point that each and every musician creating today should take note of. "There's no formula to staying relevant. You either are, or you aren't…luckily we are," laughs the legendary Slayer axeman.
In fact, Slayer may be more relevant now than ever. On their latest album, World Painted Blood, Kerry and his Slayer cohorts churn out some of the most gut-wrenching, throat-slashing thrash that they've ever recorded. Tracks like "Public Display of Dismemberment," "Not of this God" and "Americon" show Slayer unleashed like never before—it's a brutally beautiful thing…
That's not to say that Kerry his all about sonic decapitation; in our exclusive video interview with Slayer's riff-slinger ARTISTdirect.com found out about King's love for The Hangover—which may be the Reign in Blood of comedies.
Slayer guitarist Kerry King sat down with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino for an exclusive interview about World Painted Blood, telling some sick stories lyrically, encouraging free thought via heavy metal, how smart Marilyn Manson is and The Hangover.
