You're going to fall in love with Oh Honey. The duo of Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard pen passionate, poetic, and powerful pop tunes that immediately captivate on their EP With Love. The interplay between them remains nothing short of magical, and it's easy to fall under their spell. Take one listen and let the love begin!

In this exclusive interview with ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino, Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard of Oh Honey talk With Love and even share a bevy of exclusive tour photos.

What ties With Love together for you?

Mitchy Collins: All of the songs have a similar message. Our whole outlook on songs and life is very optimistic. It’s like a mission statement for our band. Life happens to everybody. Everyone goes through problems and heartache. There will always be a tomorrow. We don’t want to ruin the ending, but everything will be alright.

So that’s your mantra in a nutshell?

Mitchy Collins: Exactly, it can’t rain forever!

The songs have great hooks, but there’s a lot going on musically too.

Mitchy Collins: We had some great collaborators and producers on the songs, but all of the songs started on my acoustic guitar. We let them take shape on their own. We take it piece by piece and try to have it make sense to get the message through.

What’s the story behind “Lonely Neighbor”?

Mitchy Collins: It’s a special one. I’ve never been good at feelings or matters of the heart and talking about those kinds of things. That’s a big part of why we write songs. It’s easier to write a song than it is to get the courage to talk to somebody. It’s about wanting to be with someone and not being able to.

Danielle Bouchard: On the four songs from the EP, we were being really honest. We were writing about things we’ve all gone through. The listeners are able to relate to the messages and the experiences we talk about in the songs.

    What artists shaped you?

Mitchy Collins: I love Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, The Lumineers, and Butch Walker. It’s anyone who can tell a story.

Danielle Bouchard: Growing up, I listened to Fleetwood Mac with my mom all the time. We both loved Stevie Nicks. I like a lot of female singer-songwriters such as Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles. My favorite artist is Bon Iver. I like Mumford & Sons.

    What else fosters your storytelling?

Mitchy Collins: Danielle reads a lot. I don’t. I’m a lyric guy. That’s the most important thing because that’s what people will take away. It’s better to always paint a picture and be honest about what you’re talking about. We try to put that into every song.

Danielle Bouchard: I read a lot, and I grew up doing a lot of theater and musical theater. It’s interesting to see the transition between one art form and another. It’s crucial for us to tell stories.

What books or authors do you come back to?

Danielle Bouchard: I like F. Scott Fitzgerald.

    Mitchy Collins: J.K. Rowling...

Danielle Bouchard: He’s making fun of me because I love Harry Potter [Laughs]. It’s not about specific authors. I read everything I can. I just read The Da Vinci Code. Now, I’m reading Angels & Demons. It’s whatever I’m in the mood for. I like history. Though, I will say F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of my favorites.

If With Love were a movie what would it be?

Mitchy Collins: I’d like to pretend Almost Famous because it’s my favorite movie of all time. It’s got a little bit of Almost Famous and The Notebook because we sing about love a lot and the different stages.

Danielle Bouchard: The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...

Mitchy Collins: It’d probably be a cheesy nineties teen movie about heartbreak [Laughs].
