Interview: Rob Zombie discusses "Taxi Driver," New Songs with Joey Jordison

From day one, Rob Zombie has been very clear about his goals.
He's executed them all eloquently. Whether it be crafting the ultimate stage show and concert experience on stage or establishing himself as a genuine force in the film business, Rob never fails to deliver. He followed up the blood-soaked big screen headtrip Halloween II with the equally bombastic battering of Hellbilly Deluxe 2—the "sequel" to his classic 1998 solo debut. Hellbilly Deluxe 2 is the perfect meeting point for everything Rob's done. It's got the heavier than hell hooks of "Jesus Frankenstein" and "Mars Needs Women" and then it's got the cinematic nutcases like "Virgin Witch" and "Werewolf Women of the SS." If you get the deluxe edition too, there's some pretty sweet packaging. So Rob's knack for a killer tune and a deadly character all come through on the new album, but he's got way more in store.
This fall an updated Hellbilly Deluxe 2 is dropping with three new songs featuring Joey Jordison of Slipknot and Murderdolls behind the kit, bashing his soul away. About having Joey in the band, Rob exclaims, "He's a very invigorating person to add to the band. Everything seems like it's jumped up to another level for us. It's great!"
Rob Zombie sat down with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino for an exclusive interview about Hellbilly Deluxe 2, the new songs with Joey Jordison, why Taxi Driver sticks with him to this day and the chances of seeing The Devil's Rejects come back.
