Is Lorde Dropping Her New Single This Week?

It's been four years since Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, better known as Lorde, exploded onto the scene with her first hit "Royals". She dropped her debut record, Pure Heroine, a few months later and we have all been waiting rather impatiently for its follow up ever since. And now it finally looks like a new single might be on its way.
Last night, a commercial ran in New Zealand that offered a very brief taste of what we hope is a new Lorde single, as well as some possibility of a New York appearance on Thursday. The ad featured Lorde sitting being a man with music playing, and then "3.2.17 NYC" appears, followed by "3.3.17 NZ". Unfortunately, no one who really knows anything is allowed to say what exactly those dates and abbreviations might imply.
So let's look at what we do know. We know Lorde will be in New York on March 11th to appear on Saturday Night Live. We also know that Republic Records had a meeting on February 21st where they discussed something titled "Lorde (Confidential Title) 3/7".
It seems as if there are three possible dates for when new music from Lorde could be released into the world. We're just hoping it's this Thursday. We've waited long enough.
