The media is turning the relationship between pop star Rihanna and her baseball boyfriend Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers into a spectacle. Ripping a page right out of the Jessica Simpson/Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys play book, the blogosphere is speculating that the outfielder is in a slump because he is distracted by his famous girlfriend. Kemp is hitting only .196 this month, and his defensive play has slipped, too.

A few years back, the media accused singer Simpson of being a hex on her quarterback boyfriend, Romo, who broke up last summer. It must be a slow news day when these stories surface.
