Iwrestledabearonce are known for their spastic, all-over-the-place, brain-damaging metal, which is crazy and corrosive enough to induce seizures. Seriously, they tap into parts of your brain you never use, let alone know they existed! Okay, so maybe it doesn't ruin your brain, but it certainly makes you think because it hangs out so far in left field that it's almost out of the ballpark.
Their music is certainly an acquired taste, but once you develop a hankering for it, you'll want to feast on it every time. That's why ARTISTdirect.com sat down with vocalist Krysta Cameron and guitarist Steven Bradley for an exclusive video chat about their new album, Ruining It For Everybody, out July 26th.
Cameron revealed that she "put paper all over the wall and wrote" when coming up with ideas for this album and her efforts were a combination of writing and sewing, as she also makes handbags. She also admitted that the new album is more visual, but not as personal, while Bradley said that the band tried to make their sound a little more cohesive, with the same weirdness. He called it "gooderer." We agree that it is indeed "gooderer." It's also weirdly cohesive, too.
Cameron also talked about the song "Button It Up," calling it a "creepy song about a young girl ends up meeting someone she thought she could trust and ends up paying for it." Sounds like any questionable web romance! She also deemed it a moody song.
