Jack White Mentors Folk Singer Laura Marling

White Stripes/Raconteurs guitarist Jack White is mentoring folk'ish singer Laura Marling, Spinner is reporting via the BBC. Marling, who is just a tender 20-years-old, recorded a single for White's Third Man label at White's studio in Nashville. White told the BBC that he was tipped off about the singer and that he often invites musicians passing through town to come by his studio before a performance to lay music down. Sounds like White is fostering a bit of an artist's colony with his studio and label, which is beyond cool in my book.
White said that Marling was perfect, cutting the song in one take. He said, "She's gorgeous. Gorgeous voice and an incredible person. A wonderful girl." The currently title-less song will be released via seven-inch vinyl as part of Third Man's 'Blue Series.' No date has been set, though.
What is your favorite White Stripes song? Do you prefer the Stripes or the Raconteurs?
