In dark times, it is always important to keep a sense of humor about things, and it seems James Blunt has one - and we're slowly warming to him because of it. Already famous for his self-deprecating humor on social media - his Twitter bio reads, "proof that one song is all you need" - today the "You're Beautiful" singer tweeted, "If you thought 2016 was bad - I'm releasing an album in 2017."
The 2017 album is set to be Blunt's fifth, and his first since 2013's Moon Landing, which reached number 2 on the UK charts. All four of his previous albums have made it into the top 5 of the UK charts.
Blunt most recently made the news when he was apparently involved in an incident during a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. He took part in an event where, according to reports, Blunt jested that he wanted to become Sir James. Princess Beatrice retrieved a ceremonial sword, swung it backwards, accidentally catching Ed Sheeran on the cheek in the process. Sheeran headed to the hospital afterward where he received stitches and then returned to the party.
There is no information yet as to when we can expect a new album from Blunt. However, if he keeps making headlines involving the slashing of Sheeran's face, we can probably expect another chart topper that even makes James twinge all the way to the bank.
