James Dewees + Matt Pryor of Get Up Kids to Tour Together

Emo alert.
In addition to their work together in The Get Up Kids, James Dewees and Matt Pryor have always maintained a steady string of other projects. For Dewees, it has been Reggie and the Full Effect (along with Common Denominator and Fluxuation). For Pryor, it's been The New Amsterdams, The Terrible Twos, Lasorda, and two acclaimed solo albums. Now, the duo has plotted Two For the Road, a short East Coast tour in January 2013 where they'll perform material from all their various projects.
"This is something we've talked about for a while," says Pryor. Adds Dewees, "Our schedules just never seemed to allow it until now."
Dewees has been away from center stage since Reggie and The Full Effect's "farewell" tour in 2008; he's since toured extensively with My Chemical Romance as their keyboard player. Pryor is breaking his self-imposed "gig ban," in effect since last winter, to do the tour.
Dewees and Pryor will also launch a weekly podcast called "Tuesdays with Reggie" as a companion to Pryor's weekly "Nothing To Write Home About" show, where they will discuss the tour (among other things) and take questions from fans. For more information on the podcasts, visit www.ntwha.com.
Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It. will support all dates.
