Wed, 05 Sep 2012 16:04:09
Singer/songwriter James Taylor has been awarded one of France's top cultural awards. He was bestowed the honor due to his long and successful musical career.
Taylor has been named as the latest recipient of the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, which recognizes individuals who have contributed to the arts. Sounds like a big and fancy title, doesn't it?
"James has received word that the French government has conferred on him the distinguished honor of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters. The announcement will be followed by a private medal ceremony at a later date at the French Embassy in New York," read a post on his website. [see the certificate below]
Previous recipients of the award are Robert Redford, Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman. So JT is in good company.
Congrats, James!
