Hatebreed vocalist JASTA is launching his debut solo album, simply titled JASTA, via eOne on July 26th. ARTISTdirect.com has teamed up with the hardest working man in hardcore to debut the track "Mourn the Illusion," which is a bit of a creative left turn for him and one that he has made deftly.

JASTA, who has several side projects, such as Kingdom of Sorrow and ICEPICK, in addition to Hatebreed, has still found the creative energy (not to mention the time) to work on solo songs. "Mourn the Illusion" isn't more of the same from the singer nor do these songs sound like cast-offs from his other projects; instead, he sings a little more melodically and the song has a bit of a neo-thrash (a la Shadows Fall) vibe and it's layered with some squalling harmonics. It's all held together by Jasta's throaty roar. It shows fans a new side of the former MTV2 Headbanger's Ball host, who is known for his anthemic style.
