Jamie Lynn Hart's latest album, Anticipate, is appropriately titled. After releasing her two EPs, Jamie Lynn Hart (2007) and Contract Called Love (2009), JLH set out to showcase her lyrical prowess and flex her musical muscles, to show her fans what she's really made of! We call her a lyrical gangsta, but it's not like she's gangsta-like or gangsta-rapping. We're just being funny!
"I've been anticipating a full-length release that truly represents my sound and message. I really took my time with this project to make sure it was something I'd be really proud of," Hart said in a statement.
Anticipate highlights Hart's lyrical pop voice layered over a roots rock groove. She pushes herself to really go "there," and everywhere else, from retro-blues and pop melodies to soulful acoustic ballads, raising the stakes for herself and her musical peers.
Heavily influenced by her personal experiences, her songs are relatable stories filled with authentic soul baring messages. "I strongly dislike generic or trite lyricism, so I strive to make sure my writing is original yet accessible," said Hart. To reach a bona fide level of storytelling, Jamie Lynn Hart collaborated with band members Kevin Eldridge, Steve Belleville, Eric Finland, and Attis Jerrell Clopton and produced the album with Zach McNees (The Gregory Brothers, Coldplay, Björk).
The first single off this debut album "Been Missing" is a window into Jamie's romantic heart. Accompanied by an intimate video, "Been Missing" tells the story of an immediate connection and discovery of the raw passion and emotion that has ‘set the bar' for future relationships.
Following her full length release, Jamie Lynn Hart will be promoting her album on an east coast tour, hitting renowned venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, The Bitter End in New York, and more. Jamie Lynn Hart is excitedly awaiting the release of Anticipate, set for Nov. 22. Her release show is on Nov. 17 at The Bitter End in New York City.
