Jared Leto spoke to MTV about rumors that his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, might break up. Leto revealed that the group was unsure about the plans for the future and he certainly was quite coy, refusing to say that the band is not calling it a day.
Regarding the breakup, he said, "Yeah, and I mean, it's understandable why people would [think] that. We've been really thinking about the future, and life and opportunities and choices and, really, I think when we're done with this album cycle, then we'll be ready to address the future." While that's certainly not going to quell fan's fears, at least he is being responsive and saying we'll decide once we're done with our new album promotion.
Additionally, Leto addressed the fact that the band's "Hurricane" video had created a serious buzz at the VMAs, receiving nominations for Best Direction, Cinematography and Direction. That success caused Leto to say, "But the nice thing about these video nominations, they certainly would be a great way to say goodbye, wouldn't they? I mean, winning all three would be a pretty nice way to go out." Oh Jared, quit being so coy.
Leto could be stirring the pot or he could be being totally honest about the future. However, his comments about the going out on top thanks to the video have to be terrifying for fans.
