Jason Bonham Says Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour Was "This close" to Happening

Drummer Jason Bonham, who sat in for his dear, departed dad, John Bonham, during Led Zeppelin's reunion show in 2007, has revealed that the group was incredibly close to touring after that gig. The caveat? Singer Robert Plant would not have been singing for the band. A Plant-free Zeppelin really isn't Zeppelin for me.
Bonham told Music Radar that when Plant refused to hit the road as Zeppelin, the remaining members spent a year rehearsing and writing with various singers, hoping to eventually hit the road for a tour. Bonham said, "it got as close as you could get." Well, "close" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. The young Bonham didn't provide any sort of concrete, tangible reason as to why the tour never came to fruition, he did suggest that guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones had a falling out.
Would you have gone to see a Led Zepp show sans Plant?
