Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz told Billboard that he has two albums' worth of material for the follow-up to 2008's We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, which featured his smash hit single "I'm Yours." Mraz said, "I've got two very different-sounding albums. If I cut all of the material in half, I've got something that's fresh for the summer, ready for people to dance to, and I've got something else that's a little different, a little more lush and tender. I kinda hope that I do [have two albums] because I've been doing three years between each album now...But I've got so much stuff right now that it hurts my feelings to leave some of it off one album, and I would like to know that I'll have a follow-up album all ready to go." Mraz sounds like he knows what he wants.
Mraz says he has recorded tracks with a variety of collaborators, including Dido, Brazilian artist Milton Nascimento for a song in both Portugeuse and English and Willie Nelson. Mraz and the red-headed stranger recorded a version of "The Way Is Love," an unreleased Roy Orbison song that was demoed months before his death. Mraz also said he hopes to finish up the process by November and then hit the road in early 2011.
